Ted Houghton is founding partner of Houghton Financial, which he first launched as an insurance agency in 1975. Today, Houghton provides a range of financial products for businesses and individuals, including qualified and non-qualified retirement plans and investment management. Ted specializes in working with clients on Executive Benefit Plans, Wealth Transfer, and Business Life Insurance.
When meeting with new clients, Ted likes to ask them, “If we meet three years from today, what will need to have happened to you – both personally and professionally – for you to be happy with your progress?”
This question yields refreshingly honest answers which Ted uses to form valuable insight into his clients’ goals. Ted listens closely to the information and objectives each client shares and uses what he learns to build the framework of a plan designed to fit their specific needs.

Michael Houghton is a 2005 graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts. He worked in the financial industry in Houston for several years before returning to his hometown of El Paso to join his father, Ted Houghton, in leading Houghton Financial Partners.
Michael leads the development of qualified retirement plans and other benefits, with the goal of easing the plan-management burden that often falls to business owners and human resources teams.
As an experienced financial planner, Michael brings his knowledge and insight of financial products and services to help his clients tailor plans for their unique needs. He genuinely enjoys working with Houghton’s diverse client base to support the needs of businesses large and small, and to assist clients with the service they need to grow their business.
Michael also enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Denise Anaya-Saenz manages the Customer Service for Houghton Financial Partners. Service First is one of the key values of our business, and Denise leads in this area by carefully listening to our clients and understanding and responding to their individual needs.
Her effective and efficient communication with clients has helped the firm create a strong organization and a unique culture of trust. Denise is a graduate of the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Business. Denise also enjoys spending time with her husband, Gilbert and daughter, Sydney.
Gina joined Houghton Financial Partners as an administrative assistant in 2016. She brings many years of experience in client support and is adept at problem-solving issues related to direct business.
She provides an exemplary level of service to the Houghton team and our clients.
Gina enjoys spending time with her husband Scott and visiting their two children, Steven and Kayla, in Ohio.
